- When I turned 40 three years ago
- my body went to pot. I gained twenty
- pounds and everything started to ache.
- The worst part was my brain ran out of
- RAM. I found that for every bit of new
- information that clawed its way in, at
- least one bit of old info fell out. Is
- this what happens to everyone when
- they hit the big 4-0?
-
- Well, folks, apparently not. Ed
- Fournier, who has been making up word
- puzzles at a breakneck pace lately,
- just informed me that his age is just
- about DOUBLE mine. I don't know
- whether to be en- or dis- couraged.
-
- Oh well, at least this has kept me
- from dwelling on the fact that I'm as
- old as Paul McAleer, Johnny Harris
- (LOADSTAR authors) and Macaulay Culkin
- (Home Alone star) all mashed together.
- Not only that, they'll make more than
- $5 million more than I make this year!
-
- DROPOUTS by Ed Fournier. It's a
- good puzzle for your printer. Sorry
- about having a mid-life crisis while
- introducing it.

- [DAVE'S LAST WORD:] Forty? Forty's not
- old. I just turned 55. I'm at a speed
- limit. If my calculations are correct,
- Fender is now 57 or 58. Methinks he
- gripethed too soon!
